“Tales of Vacation, Cultivation and Alienation”
Friday, July 19, 2019, 7 to 9 p.m.
Proceeds benefit the Delaware River Mills Society
Live radio theatre returns to the Prallsville Mills! This performance by the zany River Town Radio Theatre consists of three comedy pieces. Musical guest Poor Mouth will share music of Appalachia throughout the evening.
This performance starts by exposing our listening audience to new norms in outdoor vacationing. You’ll want to dress appropriately and bring a walking stick, just in case.
Then, staying with the outdoor theme, the performance explores farm-to-table dining when a master gardener gets her research funded by a top-secret government organization. Once again, River Town Radio Theatre (RTRT) “borrows” a work of George Point, who, when not producing technical journals for the CIA, delivers Book Talks on one of the best radio stations in the country, WDVR/FM.
In a separate piece, called “Welcome to Our Town,” RTRT will present an interesting tale of small-town dynamics as residents grapple with the difference between immigration, emigration and Alien invasions!
“RTRT practices the art of ‘borrowing without asking,’” the organizer of River Town Radio Theatre has been heard acknowledging after being questioned by the FCC.
