River Town Radio Theatre
Brings Zaniness to Mill

CONTACT: Robert Rando

STOCKTON -- River Town Radio Theatre is bringing its signature zaniness in reconstructing the inner workings of radio theater to the Prallsville Mills on Sunday, June 10 from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Joined by the visual artist and musician Joe Coco, River Town Radio will reconstruct Abbot and Costello, Flash Gordon, Prairie Home Company and The Maltese Falcon as well as listening in to a bit of music from Joe Coco and Jim Roney.

“The Radio Theatre Troupe is an offshoot of The Book Garden in Frenchtown,” said Robert Rando, director of the group," adding that he welcomed the opportunity to perform at the Mills, considered a significant example of early American industrial architecture that was included in the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

“What better place for a group of performers who may also go down in the annals of history, at least at the local police department,” Rando said. "River Town Radio Theatre got its start a few years back performing, where else, on the radio. We thank WDVR for that opportunity.”

“Our unconventional group of characters – yes, we can be zany -- has been giving it to the community the last few years via both radio and live performances at venues like the Virginia Napurano Cultural Arts Center in Sergeantsville and the ArtYard in Frenchtown,” added Roger Greene.
