The Purple Party:
Join Us as We Turn the Mill Purple
For Alzheimer's Care and Research
Two years ago, Mill staffer Phil Gutis was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's Disease. While Phil has been able to remain working at the Mill, he and his husband Tim Weaver have also jumped into the roles of Alzheimer's Advocates, joining an Early Stage Advisory Group for the National Alzheimer's Association and working locally with the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
This year Phil and Tim were honored to be selected Co-Chairs for the Longest Day Volunteer and Organization Committee for the Delaware Valley Chapter, and had decided to host their own event. And wonderfully the Prallsville Mills was generous enough to co-sponsor The Purple Party at the Mill on June 21 as part of The Longest Day, the Alzheimer's Association's second largest annual fundraising initiative. Our plan is to literally turn the Mill purple! (Purple being the signature color of the Alzheimer's Association.)
The Purple Party will start at 6:30 PM on Thursday, June 21st, and feature Art for Auction, Live Music featuring The Eastern Hellbenders, games, dancing, good food and good friends all rallying for funds for research and awareness and support for those caring for those afflicted by a disease which is turning life upside down for 5 million Americans. (And that number is forecast to rise to 13.5 million by 2050!)
The Longest Day supports the Alzheimer's Association's efforts to find a cure and to support the folks who already have the diagnosis, and those that care for them. Tickets for the Purple Party are $45 a person. Please use the link below to purchase your tickets or to make a donation to support The Longest Day and the Alzheimer's Association!
